Jessie Herring
Pastor Jessie M. Herring serves as the Senior Pastor and co-founder of Table of Life Ministries, a non-denominational church established on October 31, 2010, in Springfield, Illinois.
Born on October 2, 1958, in Charleston, Mississippi, Pastor Herring dedicated over four decades to St. John Missionary Baptist Church. In this capacity, she instructed Sunday School, served as an Associate Minister, and participated on the Board of Trustees. Additionally, she founded the "Seeking Soul Outreach Ministry" and led a Prison and Hospital Ministry for six years.
Pastor Herring graduated from Charleston High School in 1976 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Mississippi Valley State University in 1980. She has been a licensed minister for twenty-four years and has served as a pastor for twelve years.
In 2007, she relocated to Springfield, Illinois, where she began her role as a substitute teacher in the Springfield Public School District and subsequently retired as a Treatment Specialist at the Sangamon County Juvenile Center.
Upon her retirement, Pastor Herring engaged in multiple roles aimed at enhancing and serving her community. She is currently the first African American female to be vice president of the Ministerial Alliance of Springfield and Vicinity. Additionally, Pastor Herring is the director of the Prayer of Protection, a vision Pastor Herring developed to pray for leaders in her community and the nation. Furthermore, she oversees the Hope of Life Outreach Project, which aims to feed and support underserved populations in her community.
Pastor Herring serves on several boards within the Springfield community, including Memorial Behavioral Health, WLUJ, and S.E.E.D. (Springfield Engage Encourage Development).
She continues to dedicate time to minister at Helping Hands and the Juvenile Detention Center, where she offers encouraging messages to both adults and youth in Springfield, Illinois. Pastor Herring demonstrates a profound commitment to the welfare of children and is dedicated to serving God's people and the community at large.
