A Springfield Bible-Based Church Rooted in Faith and Family
Table of Life Ministries is a non-denominational, Bible-based church located in Springfield, Illinois. We are a welcoming and Spirit-filled Christian community where families grow in faith, individuals find purpose, and lives are transformed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our church is committed to preaching Christ, walking in love, and serving our community with joy.
Our Founding Story
Established Through Prayer, Fasting, and Obedience to God
In 2010, Pastor Jessie Herring, then leading a home Bible study and seeking God’s direction, met and married Pastor Paul Herring. Together, they were led by the Holy Spirit to start a new ministry that would honor God and serve people. After much prayer and fasting, Table of Life Ministries launched on October 31, 2010, with only 34 seats and a heart full of worship.
Rather than observe Halloween, they introduced the annual Hallelujah Festival, celebrating light, love, and life in Christ—a tradition that continues to bless families today.
Why “Table of Life”?
A Place of Spiritual Nourishment, Unity, and Love
The name was inspired by Pastor Jessie’s former pastor, Pastor Garvin Church of Charleston. It symbolizes a spiritual table where all are welcome—children, families, the brokenhearted, and the hopeful—to be nourished by the Word of God, fellowship, and unconditional love.
A Legacy of Leadership and Vision
Springfield Church with a Legacy of Community and Faith
Though Pastor Paul Herring has gone home to be with the Lord, his legacy of faith, vision, and leadership lives on. Pastor Jessie Herring continues to faithfully lead the church with humility and courage, always seeking God's voice. Her dedication has allowed the ministry to grow, thrive, and expand its impact across Springfield and beyond.
